Dual Junction Isolator

Dual junction isolator can also be called multi Junction isolator, that is, it is composed of two or more single junction isolators. According to different connection forms, it can also be divided into dual junction / multi junction coaxial isolator or dual junction / multi junction strip line isolator.

In practical application, we need to select various isolators with different performance according to different use conditions. In most cases, the isolator we use is one single junction isolator. According to different connection forms, it can be divided into coaxial, strip line and surface mount isolator. However, when we need high isolation, the dual junction isolator will be needed.

From the perspective of overall dimension, the size of dual junction isolator is larger than that of single junction isolator. Like the isolator of the same frequency band, it can be regarded as that the dual junction isolator is composed of two single junction isolators, as shown in the dimension diagram of 2-4 GHz single and dual junction isolator:

Therefore, single section isolator can be selected without requiring large isolation, which has the characteristics of small insertion loss and small volume. In the index performance of single and double section isolator, although there is a large difference between isolation and insertion loss, its VSWR is unchanged.
